Yes, I am having a go at this again. Blogging. In the time I’ve been away (and it’s been way to long) I’ve grown a lot and learned a couple of things which lead me back to blogging.
So why did I quit my first blog (daintysoull, if you remember, I love you)? Well, it basically just happened. I had a lot of other things on my mind and blogging just wasn’t a priority. Blogging is a lot of work, at least in my case because I either put my heart & soul into it or I move on, and I just didn’t have the space to do that. I also had no vision or planning with my last blog, which is totally fine if that works for you, but I ended up writing blogposts last minute. Again, not writing from my heart and soul. Being offline gave me the opportunity to discover new ways to take images, more like telling a story instead of lifestyle, discover what else I’m interested in, develop my mindset and experiment again.
Talking about experimenting; I used to be quite limited by my mind. I was as I would call myself ‘a major perfectionist.’ Not in the sense that I wanted to get straight A’s for every subject in school, but rather in a way in which I wanted to do be able to everything that I love perfectly the first time round. I’d have a vision in my head of what I wanted to create and if it wouldn’t play out like that I’d get discouraged. But through a few books, a few podcasts, YouTube videos and mostly through my love for photography I learned that good things take time. Just seeing how much I have changed and grown with my photography compared to two years ago is astounding. I truly believe that as much as we think we’ll be satisfied with the end result, it won’t be so until we learn how to enjoy the process. Progress is what we all truly want. Changing our mentalities is not easy, but it is worth it. It’s still a work in process but that’s the beauty of it. You can always grow to become a better version of who you are today. You just have to adopt a growth mindset over a fixed one.
Being our true authentic selves and living & create according to our own values and interests is the best we have to offer. I truly love photography, posting online, writing a blogpost from time to time and focusing on self development. So that’s what I do. I embrace every part of the journey. Life just isn’t as fun to me without having a creative outlet, without having something to work on to call my own.
So yea, here we are again. So far I absolutely loved setting up this blog and I truly enjoy researching topics to write on, posting daily on Instagram (I’m actually drowning in pictures but I still just keep taking them..), writing longer captions and finding creative ways to make Instagram stories. I want my Instagram and this blog to be a positive & uplifting place to grow, inspire creativity and conscious living and to be a host to my photography.
If there are any topics you’d like me to talk about, leave your suggestions down below because I’d love to hear from you. Thank you for checking my blog out and let’s grow together!
